Press Conferences

Do you have an exciting topic you're planning to debut at The NAB Radio Show? There's no better way to create press attention for your innovation than a news conference!

Here are a few questions to ask yourself to help determine whether a press conference would be right for you.

  1. Is your product/service sufficiently newsworthy to generate attendance at a news conference?
  2. Do you have to in-house resources to generate attendance at a news conference? If not, can you afford to hire professionals?
  3. Do you have adequate technical staff available to conduct product demonstrations if necessary?
  4. Will company officials be available to participate and answer questions? If so, tell the media and they'll be more likely to attend.

In-Booth News Conferences
In-Booth conferences are a great way to generate media attention, especially if you are planning a live demonstration of a new product. Please keep in mind that events on the exhibit floor will not be allowed before the exhibit hall opens each morning. Events must be completed with guests and staff off of the exhibit floor by 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. No event can be held on the show floor after the official closing on Thursday.

To have the details of your news conference posted online, please submit the news conference scheduling form. See the Media Relations guide for additional tips on planning a news conference. If you have any questions, please contact Ashley Brenner at (202) 429-5481 or abrenner@nab.org.
